The Accounting Automation feature is unique to UniFi and unrivalled.

With UniFi, data can flow seamlessly to and from your
accounting software, meaning journals post automatically, and users are always seeing the most up-to-date data when entering or approving a transaction.

UniFi comes with a flexible data connector builder that allows you to connect to your accounting, ERP, CRM, HR and other business systems. It can automate a process and automatically create a journal and post it into your accounting system.

There are two types of automation available in UniFi: 

Automation Processes – assists Full, Credit, or Bot users by enhancing efficiency through features like:

An Autonomous Process  – these are fully managed by Bots, that can performs tasks like a human, further reducing manual intervention and freeing users for strategic work.

  • Why Automate Accounting Processes?

Using UniFi drag-and-drop app builder, you can build applications for any business process for any user inside or outside your organisation.  

UniFi’s powerful accounting automation can then:

  • Automatically post accounting transactions from any point in a process eliminating re-keying or batch export/import of data. The journal number or other reference can be written back to UniFi automatically for full auditability.
  • Give you full control of the accounting double-entry. Using our data connectors you can define each line of a journal and specify what accounts, analysis etc. are required.
  • Read data directly from your accounting or other systems, eliminating the need to keep separate lists of core information in multiple systems and allow users to see critical information such as available budget before entering or approving a transaction.

Integrate UniFi with your FMS or ERP

With UniFi’s Data Connector , you can seamlessly integrate any Financial Management System (FMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) system. 

This integration will enable accounting teams to close faster and more accurately while improving analysis and reporting capabilities. Your FMS/ERP will synchronize continuously with UniFi to ensure your data is always up to date.  

Autonomous Processes

Autonomous processes mimic the activities of human users so you can streamline operations, reduce manual tasks, and enhance productivity – all in the background without human input. They are fulfilled by bots that can imitate and perform routine actions that normally take a chunk of your team’s valuable time.

UniFi currently has 8 Autonomous Processes:

UniFi automates transaction creation by monitoring emails, extracting key data from attachments using OCR and AI, and seamlessly progressing transactions through workflows for faster, more efficient processing.

UniFi leverages Machine Learning and Generative AI (powered by ChatGPT) to enhance OCR and Autonomous Data Capture, enabling accurate extraction and interpretation of data from various document types, such as invoices, identity documents, forms, and tables. These AI services ensure seamless form population, with machine learning recognising key fields and generative AI providing contextual understanding for financial and HR-related documents, driving continuous automation improvements.

The Scheduler automates transactions at predefined times with preset fields, ensuring consistency, reducing manual effort, and streamlining routine financial processes.

Connect Hub offers pre-integrated autonomous APIs for UniFi, enabling seamless connections to services like Companies House, eCommerce platforms, and travel booking systems, simplifying processes like KYC, procurement, and automated bookings without technical setup.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA), automates repetitive tasks like invoice matching and automated ordering, enhancing efficiency, consistency, and freeing up time for higher-value work.

Generative AI, extends beyond OCR to automate tasks like invoice coding and document authenticity analysis, streamlining workflows, reducing errors, and enhancing compliance.

Integration bots for each inbound UniFi API connection automate interactions with external systems, enabling seamless transaction updates, data syncing, and real-time workflow automation.

 Webhooks in UniFi enable unauthenticated, one-way data transmission for immediate execution, ideal for non-critical processes like real-time notifications where response verification isn’t required.

The use case, Accounting Automation, on this page can be turned into and autonomous process and completed by a bot.
